This was my first time dining at a Perkins Restaurant, and while I'm not in a rush to go back, I would like to try their breakfast menu sometime in the future.
This is one of the best places I can think of to go and eat a decent and fulfilling meal. Please if you're in the facility try this restaurant you won't be disappointed.
We know Pete and Lenny, the proprietors, from our Freehold days, and they still remember us. But this is not the reason for the high rating. They hire the best waitstaff, and if the consistently high-quality food is any indicator, the best cooks as well. It's a well-run franchise location, with much bang for the buck. If you can get there on a weekday morning, they serve an "All-American" breakfast special for under $5 that's loaded to the gills with food. We also frequently splurge on a muffin 6-pack for under $8. Get there by 7 pm, because they roll the sidewalks up after dark...
While the food was by no means bad, it was a bit bland however.
Wasn't crazy about potato pancakes. Have great drinks. Have good pancake options. Good place to try if you want breakfast and lunch options. Wasn't too crazy with the lunch options though. Not the cheapest
Very family friendly atmosphere! Hostess and the waiter were extremely kind and sociable. Service was fast. I had the glazed pork chop with mac and cheese, and green beans with bacon. For desert, a slice of the peanut butter pie was in order.
Five stars for being an excellent embodiment of what it is. Way too much food, affordable, service fine, always seems like the wait will be forever but doesn't take as long as it seems.
